Elisabeth Svantesson is the Chair of Development Committee since October 2024.
She is a Swedish politician of the Moderate Party. She has served as Minister for Finance in the cabinet of Ulf Kristersson since October 2022 and has served as first deputy leader of the party since 2019.
H.E. Svantesson previously served as Minister for Employment from 2013 to 2014. She has been a Member of the Riksdag since 2006, representing Örebro County.
H.E. Svantesson studied economics at Örebro University between 1987–1991. Prior to being elected to the Swedish Riksdag, she was a university teacher and doctoral student.
She holds an economics licentiate from Orebro University in 2006.
